Milltronics Tool Room Mills

Milltronics has a long history of building tool room machines that can be run as manual, teach or full CNC with thousands of satisfied users. Popular in tool rooms, job shops, and tool & die, these machines are very flexible and can be used for a wide variety of different parts. We offer two types of quill machines in a traditional knee style (VK) as well as a bed type (TRQ). The rigid head (TRM) machines are available in four different sizes starting with a compact 30 x 16 in model up to a large travel 78 x 33 in.

The TRM3016 is a tool room mill that offers large travels, speed, and power at a great price. The TRM3016 (pictured above) has “drop down” door openings for long part pass-through to help accommodate oversize parts.

Milltronics Performance XP Series Vertical Machining Centers, New Machinery

Milltronics Performance XP Series
Vertical Machining Centers

The XP stands for extra power since these CNC machines are built with a 50 taper spindle and linear cross roller guides for rigidity, direct-coupled ballscrews for faster response, and dual wound spindle motors for faster acceleration/deceleration and more torque. Standard with up to 35 HP for maximum metal removal, the XP Series features a heavy duty belt drive spindle and also includes more standard features, such as a coolant ring and washdown system, lift-up chip conveyor, and height adjustment on the control.

Milltronics BR Series Bridge Mills, New Machinery

Performance IL Series
Vertical Machining Centers

The IL stands for inline since this series of vertical machining centers is equipped with a 40-taper BIG-PLUS® dual-contact inline spindle. Inline spindles run smooth and quiet with minimal heat and reduced vibration providing better surface finish and longer tool life. The 10,000 RPM inline spindles have dual wound spindle motors for faster acceleration/deceleration and more torque. The IL machines also have bigger castings, faster rapids, and more standard features.

5-Axis Machining Centers

Milltronics 5-axis machining centers feature a rotary table that offers +30°/-120° of A-axis rotation and 360° in the C-axis. These vertical mills are equipped with a BIGPLUS® spindle and the INSPIRE+ control, which provides improved surface finish and cycle times, an advanced proprietary motion engine, and a 19-inch, color, LCD touch screen. Built for rigidity, wide spacing of the linear roller guideways ensure optimal support for the table and saddle in full travel of each axis.

Turning

Combination Lathes

The Milltronics ML and TRL Series represent advanced combination lathes designed to deliver high precision and versatility for both turning and milling operations. These machines are built with heavy-duty Meehanite cast iron components, providing excellent vibration dampening and rigidity to ensure superior cutting performance. Both series feature precision ball screws and advanced CNC controls, enabling smooth, accurate movement along the X and Z axes.

The TRL Series focuses on versatility with compact, high-performance features for precision turning tasks. Its rigid construction, powerful spindle, and user-friendly design make it ideal for general machining applications. Meanwhile, the ML Series offers enhanced capabilities with a larger spindle motor and increased rigidity, making it perfect for handling larger workpieces and more demanding machining requirements. The ML series also boasts an 8-position automatic turret for faster tool changes and greater flexibility in tooling options.

Both series share key features such as automatic lubrication, high-precision ball screws, and advanced cooling systems, but the ML series is better suited for heavy-duty tasks requiring additional power and stability. Together, the Milltronics ML and TRL Series offer comprehensive solutions for modern shops, providing exceptional performance and flexibility for turning and milling in a single, space-saving machine.

ML Series Tool Room Lathes

The Milltronics ML Series of combination lathes offers robust turning and milling capabilities, designed for high-performance machining in a compact form. The ML Series features Meehanite cast iron for the bed, cross slide, and saddle, providing excellent vibration dampening and stability. These turning centers boast a wide spacing of 405mm on the Z-axis ways, further enhancing rigidity and cutting performance.

The spindle, driven by a servo motor, offers smooth operation with direct drive, eliminating gears and noise, and supporting heavy workpieces. The ML Series has an 8-position automatic turret designed for quick tool changes. These lathes feature precision ball screws and robust lubrication systems.

TRL Series Tool Room Lathes TRL16-60, New Machinery Dayton ohio

TRL Series Tool Room Lathes

The TRL Series is Milltronics’ newest line of tool room lathes. They can be run manually or through the 9000 DGI control, which simplifies operation, shortens setup times, and provides features that reduce cycle times. TRL Series lathes provide a combination of robust turning and milling capabilities, designed for high-performance machining in a compact form.

These turning centers feature a gap bed, a swing that ranges from 16.7 to 27 inches, and a Z-axis travel that ranges from 66.5 to 84.6 inches. Chuck size is chosen during the purchasing process. TRL lathes sport fully balanced, direct-drive spindles for quiet, smooth turning, and heavy exterior ribbing on the headstock for added rigidity. An 8-position, bi-directional, automatic turret provides quick and reliable tool changes.

The bed, cross slide, and saddle are composed of Meehanite cast iron, which includes very high dampening characteristics. Heavily ribbed castings provide superior dampening, decreasing vibration and harmonics, providing aggressive turning ability. Each axis is driven using a high-precision, fully-ground ball screw. Each ball screw is supported on each end using angular contact thrust bearings to achieve high rapid traverse rates and thrust. The design of the tailstock allows for full cutting along the Z axis travel, and the oversized tailstock is ideal for supporting heavy work pieces.
